Colin Steele plays Miles Davis, with Michael Butcher

There’s been no better way to climax a Scottish jazz festival for the last twenty years than with a performance by the trumpet player’s classic group. With thrilling empathy, phenomenal solos and a driving musical energy, Colin Steele’s trumpet fronts a Quintet who cover the classic arrangements of Miles Davis’ seminal albums of the 50s and 60s, from “Milestones” to “Kind Of Blue". Today, as a special feature, the band includes one of the outstanding musicians of the younger generation, tenor saxophonist, Michael Butcher.

***Buy a ticket to this evenings concert, and get a ticket to "The Saxophone in Scotland”, Paul Towndrow Organ Trio // Matt Carmichael Quartet for only £5! That's a full day of Scottish Jazz, 3 brilliant acts for only £17.50, all at St Bride's Centre.***
