corto.alto

Liam Shortall’s online series ‘Live from 435’ assembled cross-genre musicians from across the world to explore new and original sounds in the world of jazz & beyond. For EJBF21, they get together to recreate the magic playing some of the favourite tracks from ‘Live from 435’ including ‘No’, featuring Norman Wilmore on saxophone; ‘Water Your Plants’ featuring Anoushka Nanguy (trombone/vocals) and‘Squonk’, featuring Matt Carmichael on saxophone.

In the second set, corto.alto presents a newly commissioned suite of music with Liam’s new core band. The band is a who’s who from the jazz scene in Glasgow including saxophonists Mateusz Sobieski and Harry Weir.

A world premiere for EJBF | Supported by Scottish Jazz EXPO
