Cross The Tracks

Cross The Tracks features cutting edge music that crosses the boundaries between jazz, contemporary urban music and other genres, whilst staying true to the progressive and revolutionary nature of the art form, creating new styles in their own right. It’s everything that’s new and exciting, free from static stylistic labels, re-enrgising the tradition:

Cross the Tracks is back in 2019 with a sensational line up, featuring some of the most exciting musicians on the scene right now, including Sons of Kemet, Ibibio Sound Machine, Graham Costello’s STRATA Expanded, AKU!, Moses Boyd Exodus, Soweto Kinch, Nubiyan Twist, General Post OfficeMezcla, Gianni Denitto, ESINAM, Corto Alto, OrionDonny McCaslin and London Afrobeat Collective.

Expect hip-hop and rap crossing over modern jazz; West African rhythms and Afrobeat mixed with jazz, rap, funk and dub; rock and minimalism infused with modern jazz and classical patterns; electronica, funk and psychedelic rock fused with punk and doom jazz; blazing brass attacks trafficking in a free-flowing blend of jazz, hip-hop and Afrobeat; live instrumental jazz mixed with a variety of electronic soundscapes, including bass, house, trance and dance, bridging the gap between jazz and electronic music.
