The jazz musician’s jazz musician, pianist Tadd Dameron’s associations made him the natural link between the swing and bop eras. A visionary composer, who wrote standards including “If You Could See Me Now”, and an arranger to Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Artie Shaw et al, he also played with Miles and Coltrane and was an enduring influence on subsequent generations.
